Craftie Beer App…

I entertained some friends of mine this weekend and they brought over crafty beer as a hostess gift.  I’m all about trying out a new beer so I was delighted at the opportunity to review these.  My favorite beer nonetheless is Blue Moon so I don’t really venture far.

Great Lakes Burning River Pale Ale

Not a fan of the Pale Ale.  A little dry (is that the right term?) with a kick in the back of the throat.

Paulaner Salvator Double Bock

This beer was much better.  Hoppier (that might be the right term).  I like darker more flavorful beer.

I haven’t tried the other beers just yet. 🙂

Craftie Beer App is up for funding on Kickstarter.

What is Kickstarter you might ask?

“A funding platform for creative ideas”

What is Craftie Beer App?

The perfect mobile app for craft beer lovers! Provides instant immersion into the craft beer community. Releasing November 2012 on iOS and Android. Currently funding on Kickstarter at

How does Kickstarter work?

Kickstarter is a funding platform for creative projects.

Every project is independently crafted, put to all-or-nothing funding,
and supported by friends, fans, and the public in return for rewards.

All-or-nothing funding.

Every project creator sets their project’s funding goal and deadline. If the project succeeds in reaching its funding goal all backers’ credit cards are charged when time expires. If the project falls short no one is charged.

It is essentially fundraising for a creative idea.  My friend Brian Hamlett and his business partner created the fun Craftie Beer App idea.  Now they could use some help!

  • Their Kickstarter Goal is $48,900.

  • They are currently at $16,688.
  • With 18 days to go.

If you like crafty beer and think this is a great idea, then please help! 🙂

  1. Go to
  2. Click “Back This Project”.
  3. Enter your amount. ($1 minimum)
  4. Click “Continue”.
  5. Enter payment information.
  6. Smile and sit back.  You just helped some awesome entrepreneurs take one step closer to their dream! 🙂

  1. Don’t forget the Abita Andeygator! That’s the Helles Dobbelbock that was the first you tried while we were there! A lot like the Salvator in style, it has an excellent crisp finish!

If you like darker more flavorful beers, hopefully the brown ales and porters we had in that pack will suit your fancy! Else, I’ll let you know of some other good ones! 😉
