Tom Johnson Camping Center…

Do you camp or glamp?  I started camping with my parents when I was a wee young lassie.  And I do mean camp.  Tents and all.

Now we glamp.  An RV the size of my apartment is not camping … that is glamping.  About 16ish years ago, my parents bought their first motorhome.  A brown bomber from the 1970s.  The motorhome came from Tom Johnson Camping Center located in Marion, NC.  They were hooked and have since used them for every other RV purchase since the brown bomber.

Tom Johnson Camping Center throws a BBQ rally every September to thank his customers.  We have gone the past 16 years.  I have missed a few here and there, but decided to unplug this past weekend and head to the mountains with them.  We had a blast and here are some pictures to prove it. 🙂

On the way up. Toby in my lap.

Overlooking the campground. It was a packed house!

Home for the weekend

Early morning fog burning off as the sun rose. Mom & I decided to do some power walking.

Me & Barney. He cracks me up! Staple of the weekend!

We wore matching t-shirts! 🙂

Hanging in the rain!

Ah. Nice end to a great weekend!
Thanks Tom Johnson! 🙂

Foodie Friday {Greek Chicken Pitas}…

Happy Happy Friday!! 🙂

The DNC came to a close last night, and I must say, I am so proud of our Queen City.  She did an amazing job playing hostess with the mostess.

Bigger news, I am taking today off! 🙂  Well half a day really; the boss gave me permission. 😉

I am heading to the Tom Johnson Camping Center Rally with my parents and our 3 doggies.  It is a little mountain and a lot of relaxing.  I will be practicing my crocheting {yes I decided to take this up} and rereading a few books. 🙂

I will be blogging about it on Monday.  😉 As a teaser, this is my favorite spot to chill all weekend long!  See me back there in my camping chair. 😉

Now, on to Foodie Friday!

Raymond and I made these delicious Greek Chicken Pitas a few weeks ago, and it was TO.DIE.FOR.

Organizing with Post-it Notes {Planners}…

I am a self proclaimed planner lover.  I love anything sorted and organized in a planner, and I like paper versions.  For some reason, I like being about to draw, doodle, and mark events in different colors.  You don’t get the same feel with an online planner.  I have yet to find an online version that lets me insert a little tooth for days when I have a dentist appointment. 😉

So if you love planners as much as I do, then here are some suggestions on taking it to the next level with some Post-it products:

Post-It Tabs

Allows you to separate your planner into sections.  Or tag the current week.

Wall Pockets

I. LOVE. THESE. I use them to hold my receipts in between my finance days. You know, those days when you input your receipts and look at where your money is going?  Yes, I am a bit old school but the process works for me and I can track my expenses.  My accountant loves me.  {Hi Brian ;)}

Arrow Flags

Great for reminding you of the days when you absolutely cannot miss that most important {insert activity}.  I like the flags because they visually remind me.  Dings and things are great on phones, but I like to see stuff.

Planner Love

The coolest all-in-one planner I have come across is the Erin Condren Life Planner.  It is amazing.  I balked at the $50 price tag, but I think it is worth it.  There is a section for everything that you may or may not want to track.

For example: I like to track my eating habits and my workouts.  I hate writing each down in their own separate notebook because I like to see it visually in relation to the calendar.

Stuck On You Labels…

Stuck On You

I ran across an ad a few months back that caught my eye.  Stuck On You.  Coolest Labels & Gifts.

Intrigued, I decided to check it out.  The company sells labels of different sorts.  Kids labels, clothing labels, name labels, etc.  They also sell really cool and cute kid’s stuff.

What a concept!  My mom used to write my name in Sharpie on my clothes.  Not exactly too cool for school.  But these clothing labels are!

The company sells tons of different products with a customizable options like embroidery or screen print.  I am totally into owls these days … and birds hence the new logo … so their owl goodies are my favorite.

Lake Norman Woman Magazine…

Well well well, the DNC is in full swing around here.  The news is in overdrive.  Protesters, police, and celebrities.  What a whirlwind this week will be!  And not to mention, the weather is throwing a huge curveball our way.

Whew – I’m glad I’m staying around my apartment for the week.  😉 I’ll watch and read from afar.

Also, make sure to pick up the latest copy of Lake Norman Woman Magazine.  There is an article in there that you might enjoy reading. 😉  Something about landing zones.  Written by someone … like yours truly. 🙂

Copies are available at most local Harris Teeters.

Until next time…

Charlotte Observer…

Having fun on set.

Happy Labor Day! 🙂

Yesterday morning I decided to start the day off with a cup of coffee and a good book.  I was busy enjoying the morning and decided to check Facebook.  Sounds like I am too plugged in. 😉 Well I am glad I did, I had received a note from a friend indicating there was a great article about me in the paper. {Thanks Kelly for the heads up!}

Oh my!  In the Sunday Charlotte Observer? I ran down to the newspaper box in our apartment complex, checked to make sure it was full of papers, and quickly deposited my $2 in quarters.  Opened the door — excitement barely contained.  *wonk*wonk*

It was full of Saturday papers.  You can imagine the look on my face.

I grabbed the paper on our way to lunch — well I actually grabbed two copies.  I plan to frame the article.  Is that corny?

In case you missed it — here it is.

Until next time…
