How Was Your Weekend?

What a weekend!  If you lived in or near the Charlotte area, then you know what I’m talking about! 🙂

NOTE: Besides a recap of the weekend, this post will be a slight phone dump of pictures I took each day.  My new love Instagram did not disappoint. 😉

Cody & I went for a quick run to enjoy the beautiful 60 degree weather.

While running

Cody was soaking up the rays of light.

That evening I met some friends for dinner and a drink.  Very authentic Italian started off the evening with this:

I drove in to Gastonia to help a family member with some home recommendations.  They are putting their house on the market in a few weeks; we talked about clearing out some extra stuff to make the home appear more luxurious. 🙂 Then it was lunch for my mom’s birthday! 🙂

The snow started to fall (Oh Em Gee!) and I realized I needed to book it back to Charlotte.  It was a long stressful ride back home which included 2 traffic jams and a lot of this:

Driving home -- stuck in traffic -- but isn't it gorgeous!

Once back, I changed clothes and joined Raymond & Cody outside.  It was picture taking time!  Cody was none too happy.

I thoroughly enjoyed our Winter Wonderland.

Raymond and I came in and relaxed the rest of the evening.  I was exhausted and so glad he didn’t go to work.  See, us Southerners aren’t that great at driving in snow and ice. 😉

We took Cody for a walk in the melting snow.  BTW … who on earth wears cowboy boots in the snow?  Bad idea!

Raymond wanted to take some pictures so we had a photographer standoff! 😉

Photographer Face Off

Who’s the better photographer? 😉

I kindly asked Raymond if he would go with me to IKEA.  Their President’s Day Sales were awesome but I really only wanted the GORM shelving unit … and at a $20 discount!

He wasn’t thrilled but said yes … then I asked if he would drive.  Tricky little girl. 🙂

Not thrilled about driving to IKEA.

I’m not great with crowds … much less anxious bargain crazy crowds.  We were greeted with that exact scene and Raymond went hiding.  I was left to fend for myself against the mob and was successful!  This craziness happened — we had to ride home with the window down.

Hey, I’ve done crazier things in my car. 😉

Craziness at IKEA

Home we came, I put together both GORM’s … reorganized the storage closet … went grocery shopping … put together the LAIVA unit for my bathroom … shopped for baskets for the LAIVA … made dinner … cut my finger … broke an entire $10.99 6-pack of beer at Total Wine with my big badonka booty … and froze like nobody’s business all the while.

So I now ask … what did you do this weekend? 🙂

Until next time…

A Little Of This…

…. And A Little Of That.

It has been a few days since I last posted so I felt the urge to play a little catch up today. 🙂

I wrote about my lack of recipe inspiration.  I was feeling a little blah in the recipe department.

The weather was terrible which caused both awesome appointments on my calendar to end up … well …

Cancelled Appointments

After said weather disaster and bare bones pantry supplies, I decided to head to the grocery store.  I had cabin fever and just had to get out!  Probably not the smartest move but I managed to make some delish tacos for dinner.

After dinner I ate 5 … yes 5 … small chocolate chip cookies.  Well the dough actually.  I hid the rest in the back of the fridge.

I took a morning walk with Cody and it looked a little something like this.

Icy Morning Walk

I spent hours writing out a grocery list and menu plan.  Well maybe just one hour.

I cleaned the ceiling fan.  {it was embarassing}

I primed a frame that has been sitting on the patio for months.

I went to the gym(!)  Raymond found the hidden cookies.  After he told me how many calories and fat I had consumed I felt bad.  The gym was calling.

Made a trip to Trader Joes … along with everyone else in Charlotte.

Made a trip to Harris Teeter.  Spent a ton on groceries and was so excited to show off my supplies when I got home!  Yes, I am a dork like that. 😉

Raymond made Chicken Parm that was out of this world!  It was our first time cooking it and I will say … that will happen again!

Where ever the wind blew, I went!  The wind actually blew me to Goodwill.  Two of them to be exact.  I had to fight the masses at one!  Whew!

Made “grilled” chicken in the oven … on a cast iron skillet.  It is so easy and delicious!

I became obsessed with Overnight Oats In A Jar.  Raymond won’t touch it.  My mom said, “Sounds gross”.  Ha!

I organized with beautiful L.  We made some serious progress in her closet. 🙂

Made Southwest Stuffed Peppers.  Next time though?  No rice (blech) and poblano peppers.

Still obsessed with OOIAJ.  Organized with beautiful S.  We ended up hanging out more than organizing … sometimes that happens. 😉

I drooled over her closet for a second time and even shared some pictures on Instagram. 🙂

Later I went to a workout class and loved it!  Came home to make the best veggie pizza ever!

Blogging and sipping coffee while hoping the wind and storms blow over.  I have plans for this evening afterall!

…. SO … what have you been up to? 🙂

Until next time…
