Summer Bucket List {Places To Go}…

When the weather warms up, I not only want to spring clean and plant flowers, I also want to spend my weekends out and about.  Festivals.  Concerts.  Events.  Anything that allows me to enjoy the beautiful weather and my two favorite dudes. 🙂

Last year I made mental commitments to spend my weekends doing “something fun”.  The spring and summer months came and went.  My “something fun”s were minimal.  In an attempt to change that this year, I’m creating a Summer Bucket List.

Summer Bucket List | Pure & Simple

  • May-September

    • Davidson Concerts On The Green:
    • We wanted to go last night, but the weather was a little too chilly.  We ate our Picnic Dinner while watching Flight.  What a dark movie — I wasn’t a fan.
  • May
    • Hilton Head, SC
  • Ongoing
    • Yard Sales
      • I’m getting better at locating these.
    • Estate Sales
    • Davidson Farmers Market:
      • Saturdays, 8-12noon
      • Downtown Davidson is one of my favorite places in the area
      • Quaint little town tucked near the city and the lake. 🙂
    • Simpson’s Produce, Kings Drive Farmers Market:
      • One of my favorite places to buy produce during the summer.
      • I love that you buy from one vendor and not several.
      • They also sell flowers, herbs, bread, etc.
      • Unsure of the days and hours. :/
    • Treehouse Vineyards:
      • Their Saturday concerts sound right up my alley.  Not to mention I want to support my friend Kevin Russell from The Kevin Russell Band.
      • Just a matter of putting some dates on the calendar.
  • NC Zoo:
    • Raymond and I went a few years ago and had a blast!
  • Billy Graham Retreat:
  • Mt. Airy, NC:
    • Not exactly sure what we would do up there
  • Morehead City, NC:
    • I’m thinking motorboatin’ and seafood eatin’.
  • New Bern, NC
    • Dwell by Cheryl recommended this coastal town

What is on your bucket list for the spring & summer months?

Until next time…

Summer “Bucket” List…

I have been out of school for … well too long to mention.  I can still remember the when my dad picked me up from junior high on the last day of school blaring “School’s Out For Summer”…in our brown bomber RV.  I thought I was the coolest kid on the block. 😉

I, along with every kid, lived for summer!  No more school and homework!  Well since most of us haven’t dealt with homework in several years, we probably don’t get as excited about summer as we used to.

However, I do think that deep down we all still have those secret summer plans.  So before the summer passes you by…as time seems to go quicker and quicker each day…take a minute to make a summer “bucket” list.

BH&G called it a Sand Pail List … so cute!

So what will be on your Sand Pail List?

  • Summer concert series (CLT Pops in the Park, for example)
  • Outdoor movie screenings (Plenty of free ones around town)
  • Vacation (try somewhere different, like the mountains)
  • Spend a day at the lake (even if at the park)
  • Try out a new restaurant.  Sit on the patio and enjoy martinis (or your drink of preference)
  • Play some golf.  Or just get outside.
  • Grow something.  Plants or flowers.  Indoors or out.
  • Play some tennis.  ♥ me some tennis!
  • Go on a hike…or trail walking.  I love these!
  • Try something new…something out of your comfort zone.

What are you planning to do this summer? 🙂

Until next time…
