Clothes Mentor & Why I Love It…

Thrifting has become a major hobby of mine for the past few months.  I will go weeks without hitting up a thrift store, and then I get the junkin’ bug and *bam* I’m back in the Goodwill searching for another Hermes tie.  (yes, I have found 2 Hermes ties to date)  😉

What I like about thrifting is the thrill of the hunt.  The prices are unbeatable.

What I don’t like about thrifting is having to sort through the crap to find the occasional “Oh my, is that Burberry?”   If I am looking for something specific (style & color), then it might take several trips to Goodwill or the like in order to find it … if ever.

Clothes Mentor

This brings me to Clothes Mentor.  It is above Goodwill and below consignment stores.  (I blogged about my experience at FiFi’s Fine Resale here).  The prices at Clothes Mentor are awesome.  It is organized beautifully (by style, then size, then color).  It is like shopping in a boutique store — really!

They are opening another location in the Charlotte area.  The one I frequent is off Kings Dr near the Melting Pot.  901 S. Kings Dr., Charlotte, NC

If you are shopping, then be sure to grab a loyalty card.  $10 = 1 punch on the card.  Checking in on Facebook also = 1 punch.

They have two large sales per year.  I accidentally happened upon the first sale and will definitely be going back for the next one! 🙂

If you are selling, then I recommend dropping off your clothes and coming back after lunch or the next day.  It takes a little over an hour.  You will also walk out with cash, if they decide your clothes are sellable.  They give you 1/3 of what they sell it for.

Example:  GAP Maxi Dress will be sold for $18.  You will be offered $5.94 for that one item.

Check their website for more information on the buying/selling process.

Back to the fun stuff.  Here are some of my goodies:

Banana Republic Shift Dress | $18

Vineyard Vines Polo Shirt | $12

BCBGeneration Shirt | $8

Polo Sport Nautical Shirt | $14

UNISA Ballet Flats | $20

I love them all! 🙂  I’m working on becoming more fashion forward and I give mad props to my friends who help push and support.  My {Fashion} Spring/Summer board on Pinterest is coming together! 🙂

This outfit is my ultimate spring and summer inspiration! 🙂 I need to buy some stacked bracelets, statement necklaces, colored britches, and TOMS! 🙂

Guest Blog Roundup…

Is it Wednesday already?  Where has the week gone?!  I’ve been a little quiet this week as I’m spending some time regrouping and decluttering.  Yes, even the organizer needs to declutter. 😉

I wanted to round up a few guest blogs in case time is on your side and you wanted to check them out:

{1} Jessica, from Savvy Southern Parent, asked if I would guest post about organizing.  I wrote so much she broke it up into two segments! 🙂  I guess I can talk for days about organizing.

Part 1: How to Get Organized When You Are Overwhelmed and Feel Defeated By The Piles

Part 2: How To Get Organized When You Are Overwhelmed

{2} I’m blogging over at SouthPark Magazine this week about Organizing Your Long-Term Storage Areas

Organize Your Long-Term Storage

{3} I’m sharing some organizing “tools” to organize your closet over at The Charlotte Moms.

Tools To Organize Your Closet

{4} I asked my dear friend, Cheryl Luckett of Dwell by Cheryl, for some decorating tips regarding my bathroom.  She wrote an awesome post complete with pictures and suggestions.  Slightly embarrassed that it is so boring and bland. 🙂

Decor Tips For An Apartment Bathroom

You might see a few more cameos on her blog here and here.

While you are there be sure to leave some blog loving.  All bloggers love comments!  {really we do} 😉

Lastly — my new blog and IG friend Mari from Crab+Fish wrote this awesome post about thrifting.  If thrifting is something you enjoy, then hop on over and check it out. 🙂

And don’t forget — if you are on IG, feel free to follow me.  Besides posting drool worthy thrift finds, I like to take snapshots of my day to share with all of IG. 😉  Sounds fun, right?

Until next time…
